An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Skye and Lochalsh Maternity Service for an enthusiastic, flexible registered midwife, who wishes the opportunity to utilise their full range of skills in a remote and rural environment.
You must be confident to work autonomously in providing care to families in Skye, Lochalsh and Raasay in a range of environments; you must also work well as a member of a team and be prepared to be flexible.
You will be able to provide a full range of evidence based; health, education and social care advise in keeping with current drivers. There is an on call commitment with the post and midwives must be confident to triage, manage and effectively transfer women in an emergency situation.
The service is proactive in supporting local birth, whether at home or within the maternity unit, and you should be keen to promote this service. In return you will have the pleasure of deriving great job satisfaction from being able to work autonomously throughout the whole pathway of the woman and families care within Best Start Recommendations.
A full current driving licence and use of own car for work purposes is essential.
