A position has arisen to join the Oncology pharmacy team at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness – winners of the Pharmacy Team of the year 2018. The position is for an enthusiastic motivated pharmacist with an interest in specialising in cancer care. The oncology pharmacy team at Raigmore Hospital provides specialist cancer services for NHS Highland as part of the Scotland Cancer Network treating patients with solid tumours and haematological malignancies in the in-patient setting and OPD. The Raigmore hospital Cancer care team has a broad research portfolio and participates in a wide range of cancer clinical trials.
You will join a pharmacy team committed to the development of services to cancer patients and will be given the opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge and skills within a challenging but supportive environment.
Applicants should have a good working knowledge of pharmacy services and possess excellent clinical and communication skills. The successful candidate will gain a breadth of experience across pharmacy oncology services provided within Raigmore including; clinical services provided to our in-patient haematology and oncology ward and out-patient clinic work, as well as operational aspects of aseptic and dispensing services, clinical trials services and the electronic chemotherapy prescribing system (chemocare).
Successful completion of stage 2 vocational training or equivalent qualifications, or a postgraduate pharmacy qualification is essential (candidates who have started the course will be considered). You will participate in the Raigmore weekend and out of hours service and public holiday rotas.
