SUBSTANCE MISUSE LIAISON NURSE
£28,050 - £37,010 PRO RATA IF PART TIME FIXED TERM UNTIL MARCH 2021
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Substance Misuse Liaison Nurse (either RMN or RGN) to work within the Argyll and Bute Addiction Team. You will work within the Argyll and Bute Addiction Service but have close links with colleagues within the Lorn and the Isles District General Hospital in Oban, the Community Mental Health Teams, gastro-enterology out-patient clinics, mental health in-patient services, residential rehabilitation and Scottish Prison Service and other agencies. You should possess sound clinical knowledge, be able to demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills-including the ability to offer interventions, harm reduction advice and deliver safe, effective care to a diverse client population. You will be required to carry out assessments, develop and implement treatment plans within diverse treatment settings. You will be responsible for co-ordinating pathways for people within services with the broad aim of improving retention in treatment. You will be expected to offer supervision and support to junior staff within the team. This post requires you to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and as an autonomous practitioner. You should possess good interpersonal skills and a commitment to joint working. You will either be already qualified and registered with the NMC as a non medical prescriber or be willing to undertake this training on appointment. Significant post registration experience is required as well as relevant experience in the Drug and Alcohol field.
