An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Oban Community Maternity Service for an enthusiastic, flexible registered midwife, who wishes the opportunity to utilise her full range of skills in a mixed rural and town environment.

The candidate must be confident to work autonomously in providing care to families in Oban, Lorn and the Islands in a range of environments, they must also work well as a member of a team and be prepared to be flexible.

The candidate will be able to provide a full range of evidence based; health, education and social care advise in keeping with current drivers. There is an on call commitment with the post and midwives must be confident to triage, manage and effectively transfer women in an emergency situation. The service is proactive in supporting local birth, whether at home or within the maternity unit, any applicant should be keen to promote this service.

In return the successful applicant will have the pleasure of deriving great job satisfaction from being able to work autonomously throughout the whole pathway of the woman and family's care within Best Start Recommendations
