A vacancy has arisen for a highly motivated and efficient individual to work as a Deputy Data Protection Officer alongside the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for NHS Highland. The post holder will support the DPO in providing support and strategic direction on Data Protection legislation and practices ensuring that NHS Highland has an embedded privacy by design culture.
You will support the DPO in researching, developing and advising senior management on all Data Protection requirements. You will have a knowledge of, and be able to interpret, complex legislation, in particular GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and associated updates and amendments along with other relevant guidance from the Scottish Government, NHS Scotland, the Information Commissioner, multi-agency partners, contractors and other relevant parties.
This role is a Highland wide role providing services throughout NHS Highland Health and Social Care between North Highland and Argyll & Bute. This post holder will also support the DPO in the provision of services to General Practitioners within the NHS Highland area.
The post is initially based at Scotia Court, Raigmore, Inverness, however this may be subject to change.
Applicants should have a full driving licence as the post will entail some travel across the NHS Highland area and this may include the occasional need to stay away from home overnight.
