This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive pharmacist to join our specialist mental health pharmacy team based at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness where we are developing innovative approaches to assuring the delivery of optimal pharmaceutical care to people with mental health problems across both primary and secondary care settings in North Highland.
You will work collaboratively with the other advanced clinical pharmacists in the team to lead and develop the role within the primary care and community mental health team setting in addition to working as a key member of the inpatient multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centred care whilst ensuring safe, evidence-based and cost effective use of psychotropic medicines.
Key aspects of the role include contributing to the provision a specialist clinical pharmacy advice service to healthcare professionals, working as a non-medical prescriber to deliver face to face specialist pharmaceutical care to patients with a mental health diagnosis and training and supporting the primary care clinical pharmacists to deliver the generalist element of this service.
A robust clinical knowledge base in mental health and practical experience of working in this specialty is essential. You will have a non-medical prescribing qualification or be willing to undertake non-medical prescribing training, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience in delivering education and training.
Applications will be considered from candidates looking for full or part-time employment and working hours can be flexible.
